It's a rarity for the big ones to find American whiskey in the Silver Seal Whiskey series. Typically you will see classic Scottish bottlings, but here you get a Tennessee whiskey from the warm southern state in the US.
Don't confuse Tennessee whiskey with bourbon although both are produced on + 51% corn (maize). Tennessee whiskey must be filtered through "maple charcoal", which distinguishes it from classic bourbon. When talking about Tennessee whiskey, there will typically also be less rye in the mixture of the grain recipe, also called "mash bill". The biggest difference between the two, however, is the previously mentioned "softening" better known as "the Lincoln County Process", where you let the freshly distilled spirits run through a two meter high active sugar-maple charcoal filter, which ultimately helps to remove impurities in the spirit. This process gives the whiskey a softer and different flavor than classic bourbon.
There are not many distilleries in Tennessee. In fact, you will find only three distilleries, including; Jack Daniel's, George Dickel and Corsair. Guess where this bottling originated.
