Silver Seal Glenburgie 26 Years Old 1989-2016

Country/Region Scotland
ABV 52,8
Age 26

The distillery was established in 1810 according to the memorial plaque on the current distillery. At that time it was called Kilnflat. Officially, the distillery started in 1829 by William Paul. The distillery closed for a short period from 1870 to 1878, after which the name was changed to Glenburgie-Glenlivet.

The distillery has been supplying whisky to Ballantine's Whisky blend since the 1930s, and in 2005 after a major refurbishment was sold to allies by Pernod Ricard. Glenburgie is one of the largest distilleries in Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Bros. Group, even though the distillery has a very low profile. Only a small handful of official Glenburgie bottlings have been released in the last 25 years. Thus, it has to be said that this Silver Seal bottling is a bit of a pearl that is rarely seen.

The whisky is furthermore distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2016, which gives an age of 26 years. The color is very dark - a very nice color, which is characterized by a whisky that has spent many years in oak barrels. This whisky is a single cask bottling and bottled at 52.8%. Only 125 bottles have been bottled.
