The Bunnahabhain distillery is located on the peaceful, protected northeast coast of Islay, the southernmost of the Hebrew islands. The distillery was established in 1881 and has its name from Gaelic, Bunnahabhain (Bu-na-ha-ven), meaning "Mouth of the River". It refers to Margadale which is the name of the river that supplies the water that is used for the production of the whiskey.
