This single cask rum has spent 18 years on an oak cask and is bottled at 50% alcohol. Distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2018.
This rum is produced at Long Pond Distillery, a distillery known for their full bodied pot still rums, and this is no exception. Long Pond Distillery still exists in Jamaica, but stopped producing in 2012 to re-open in 2016. Seagram started the production of rum at Long Pond in 1954, but the Jamaican government bought the distillery back in 1977, to be taken over again by an association of financial corporations and individuals. In 1993 the distillery was shut down for environmental reasons, since at that time it was not possible to properly treat excess thunder and thus safely get it off the road without affecting the environment. In 2016, however, Long Pond was reopened with the help of new forces from Europe.
This is a super delicious jamaican rum where the ester level is in the middle of the spectrum - one of the most balanced Jamaicans on the market - banana, almond and lots of fruity notes.
