This rum is a single cask bottling and is therefore only produced in a very small amount. The rum has spent 15 years on an oak barrel and is bottled at cask strength of 51.9% alcohol. Distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2018.
In Guyana one of the world's best rum producers is found. Their distillery is called Diamond Distillery and is located at the Demerara River in Georgetown. The manufacturer has 14 different stills, and the so-called Diamond Still has been used for the production of this single cask rum. Diamond Still is a column still and is made of metal on the outside. It is known to make lighter distillates with a lightly roasted / smoked flavor that is very aromatic and exciting. However, they should not be confused with the large industrial continuous still which is found in Puerto Rico and Trinidad.
