This golden brown rum is a mixture of young and older distillates mixed with a so-called mother rum (which has an average age of 25 years) and various solera rums. This fusion of different rum has been carefully selected and mixed by Oliver & Oliver blenders, after which the blend is finished 6-8 years on American oak barrels according to the Solera method. It is difficult to indicate a reliable age in a rum like this, so it has been detained by the manufacturer and just chose to call it "Ron Viejo", which directly translates, old rum!
This "old rum" has a sweet-smelling aroma of light caramel and fruit, which is also the first taste impression, followed by a pleasant spicy aftertaste with a hint of nutmeg and tobacco.
