Follow the route of the wolf from the central part of Italy to the Langhe Hills in the north, where the wild wolves have found themselves again. Wolfrest Gin takes you on a tasteful journey through the wolf route.
Around 1920 the wild wolves disappeared from northwest Italy. Farmers and hunters exterminated the wolves in and around Piedmont, and the native Italian wolf only survived with distress and scarcity, and for a number of years could only be found in the Apennines, Central Italy. But from 1970, the Italian state began protecting the wolves, which resulted in the wild wolves starting to search the country. A few years ago, the wolves then reached their home at the foot of Montelupo Albese, which can literally be translated into "Wolf Mountain". Today, the wolves can again be found roaming freely in the forests, vineyards and among the hazelnut trees in the Langhe Hills area.
Wolfrest Gin has selected the best Italian botanicals that the wolves met while traveling to return to Piedmont. Wolfrest Gin is made with a selection of seven botanicals that are all grown and selected in Italian nature. These herbs and fruits are typical of the Italian territory and the Mediterranean climate.
First of all, Umbrian juniper and Pernambucco oranges from the Liguria region have been added. The other five botanicals come from Piedmont, where this gin is also distilled.
The floral notes found in the scent of this gin are from the leaves of the elderflower, which grows wild in forests near lakes and rivers. The most characteristic flavor elements in the gin come from Langhe in Northern Italy. Roasted hazelnuts from Langhe helps to harmonize the gin and fits perfectly with the addition of bay leaves, thyme and wild rosemary - all gathered in the area around Montelupo Albese (Wolf Mountain).
Wolfrest Gin is 100% Italian and bottled at 43% alcohol. Perfect companion to a dry tonic water with orange garnish.
