Barrister Old Tom Gin

The "Old Tom" style plays an important role in the colorful story of the gin. In the 18th and 19th centuries, it served as a bridge between the Dutch Genever style gins and the classic London Dry - more dry than Dutch Genever Gin but sweeter than London Dry Gin.

It was a type of gin that originated from the greed of the gin producers. At this time, it was not abnormal to add turpentine or sulfuric acid to gin to increase earnings, and to cover up the nasty taste in the distillate, sugar was added - the Old Tom style was born.

Now the original Barrister Dry Gin is also available in an "Old Tom" version. Old Tom-gin is a special type of gin that is sweeter and less botanical than the legendary London Dry gin available on the market today.

Barrister Old Tom Gin is produced in small quantities to maintain the uncompromising top quality. The gin is distilled in small copper pot stills and contains extract from eg. juniper, lemon peel, black pepper, nutmeg, almond, coriander and cardamom. Of course, the sugar has also been so it falls in line with the "Old Tom" style.

The gin is presented in a beautifully shaped, black bottle with a white label. Russian know-how meets British tradition.

Due to the sweetness of Barrister Old Tom Gin, this will be a gin that most will enjoy - also neat!
